What makes me faithful?

What makes me faithful? Well I know the love of the Lord, He has been so good to me and I look forward to the time that I spend with him. Think about it this way how many times have we gotten together with friends and family and just spent time together, doing nothing in particular but having the best time. Well we as Christians need to think of our time with the Lord that way, I will be honest with you it is hard to find time to spend with the Lord, our days are hectic and we all have so much going on, sometimes the Lord is who we neglect, shame on us. I get home lately and I just don't want to do anything. I am trying to be better about my studying. I believe we are what we read and watch. Now I am not saying that I don't read or watch things that I probably shouldn't, we all do. What I am saying is if we would look at what we are spending time on that we may realize that we do have time to spend with the Lord, we may just have to turn off the t.v. for a while. This is my goal this week is to be more diligent with my time and to use it wisely. The Lord has been dealing with me on this subject for awhile and I really haven't done what he is wanting me to do. When I went to the Joyce Meyer conference Creflo Dollar spoke the first night and he said that he thinks that FAITH means doing the last thing the Lord told you to do! If you think of faith that way how can we expect the Lord to give us something else if we haven't done what he asked us to do in the first place. Think how we feel if we ask someone to do something and they don't do it, I'm sure God feels the same way. It doesn't make us happy and I'm sure it doesn't make Him happy either. If you don't do anything but maybe turn the t.v. to a different channel there are some great christian based channels that have some wonderful words on them, Shannon and I have our DVR set to watch Creflo Dollar every week night on the Word network at 6:30 we have really enjoyed this he has a wonderful practical word, I encourage you to read your bible (you have to get it for yourself, someone else can't give it to you.) the Lord has really been putting that in my spirit lately, so many of us only go to church on Sunday and alot of us don't even do that and don't even think of the Lord any other time of the week, we have to get to the place that the Lord is the first and last thing we think of everyday. I believe that we must have a support system and a church is a great place for that. We also must get it for ourselves, because if we spend our whole lives listening to someone else and not even looking at our bibles, how do you know that the other people are telling you the truth. There are all kinds of people out there that are not preaching the truth, and we have to know them by there fruits. If we truly know the Lords voice (he does have a voice in our spirit) we will know everyone by there fruits. As we watched Creflo Dollar this week he has been talking about hearing from the Lord.he gave these scriptures and I wanted to share them with you.

John 10:25-30 (GW) 25 Jesus answered them, “I've told you, but you don't believe me. The things that I do in my Father's name testify on my behalf. 26 However, you don't believe because you're not my sheep. 27 My sheep respond to my voice, and I know who they are. They follow me, 28 and I give them eternal life. They will never be lost, and no one will tear them away from me. 29 My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than everyone else, and no one can tear them away from my Father. 30 The Father and I are one."
I think that this speaks for itself. We are his sheep and His sheep respond to His voice. My prayer for you is that you have a relationship with the Lord that you know his voice when he speaks. If you don't know his voice the only way we can learn it is by having fellowship with Him. Just like we know our friends voice we can know the Lords!

I also want to add that I study with a NKJV spirit filled bible and it is an awesome bible. I usually use NIV to quote with because sometimes it is easier for people to understand. I have a computer program that has several version and I will be using it to help save time on my blogs so I will usually use the amplified or the Gods Word version on here because that is the version that is on my computer program. I encourage you to use the bible you are use to using to look them up for yourself. I am enjoying this time and I am going to try to do this very often. If I am going to be truthful, this is probably one of the hardest things that I have done, because I don't feel like I am the most eloquent writer. As I said in the last blog the purpose of this blog was to do what I am doing now and as you can see that I have taken awhile to get started, but I have been very nervous, but as I said earlier to be faithful I feel like I have to do what the Lord wants me to do, and this is one of the things. Hopefully y'all will enjoy it and it will help people realize that we can do something for the Lord. I don't know how many people will see it, but I have faith that the Lord will bring the people he wants to see it. GOD BLESS!

My walk with the Lord!

When I started this blog I really had no idea that I had friends that were bloggers and I really let it get me away from why I was going to blog, it was not to keep up with friends that just ended up being a bonus, it was to keep a log of my daily walk with the lord. So here it goes, to start I have been saved since I was 8 years old. My walk with the lord started then, we had just moved here from Ohio and it was awkward when I moved here because I talked different, dressed different, and was from a different culture. Some were so kind, others were just plain mean, but I made it and ended up so grateful for going through what I went through because I don't think that I would have made the same choices I made if I had grown up in Ohio. One of the main reasons we left Ohio was because my brother and I walked to and from school it was just about six blocks away, and on our way home one day we walked up on a dead body burning at the end of our street in an ally. Mom then agreed to move here were my dad was from. And I know God had his hand on me even then. It was very hard to leave I had a friend that I just did not want to leave. We lived on a neat street with a great house. It was on a dead end street and the street was made of bricks. It was a quiet neighborhood and it was a shock when we found that body. Anyways we ended up in Falkville, Alabama and I am so grateful we did.

So that is just a fraction of my story and I will tell more of my story as I blog, but it might be a little overwhelming to do it all at once. Last week not this past Sunday, but the Sunday before our pastor couldn't make it, he lives 2 hours away and that is another story anyways he didn't come that night and we ended up just testifying and if anyone had anything to add the floor was open. If you know me I usually have something to say about anything and this night the Lord gave me a scripture.
Proverb 1:24-33 this is from NIV " But since you rejected me when I called and no one gave heed when I stretched out m hand, since you ignored all my advice and would not accept my rebuke, I in turn will laugh at your disaster; I will mock when calamity overtakes you- when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me. Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord, since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their schemes. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."
Friends I really feel like the Lord is trying to get us to realize what we can have if we just trust and have complete faith in Him. 1 Kings 8:61 says But your hearts must be fully committed to the Lord our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands. We have to commit to the Lord with our whole hearts and I know it is not easy, we guard our hearts, but if you will put your hearts in His hands the possibilities are endless. Jeremiah 31:33 says: " I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people." You know some people feel like why would the Lord do anything for me I'm not anyone special, but we are all special to Him, he made us in His image. Some people look at me and say she is crazy, why talk about the Lord all the time, well I walk with the Lord all the time, He is my best friend I talk to him constantly and he talks back. I know you're saying he can't talk back, but if you listen and spend enough time with him he will guide you in every choice you make, from the smallest of things to the biggest. Luke 16:15 says "You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts. What is highly valued among men is detestable in God's sight." We cannot hide anything from the Lord, we all have things we try to hide from people but God knows everything, he is all knowing, all seeing, he is everywhere that we are. He will help us through any situation if we will let him, that is the thing we have the choice, he doesn't force us to choose him, he wants to fellowship with each of us. I thank the Lord for all he does for me he has truly blessed Shannon and I. We have a wonderful support system with our family and friends. It is nice to know that you have someone you can talk to and my family and friends are wonderful and listen when I need to vent, but if you would just talk to God like a friend I believe that you will find that you have never had a friend like Him! Sometimes i feel like the devil is waring against me and the first thing that comes to my mind is to tell the devil to get under my feet, he is not in control of me or my thoughts, but it easy to fall for his tricks he trys to make us think that we cannot tell him what to do. The truth is that he is not all seeing and all knowing and if we stay in a walk with God he cannot harm us, oh he will try by making us think things that aren't true about ourselves like we are not worth it, no one cares, your not good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, thin enough.etc. Those are the things that I am talking about, if we would come to the place that we would tell the devil to get under our feet as soon as they come into our minds, and not go through what he is trying to put us through,( eventually it will be like a person who annoys you and you try to ignore so they will leave you alone,) They will eventually get the hint and leave you alone, yes it might take a long time, but if you are persistent they do finally get the hint. So have faith that you have the power to overcome the devil or any adversity that comes against you, its all about where you mind is. If you haven't read Joyce Meyer's book The Battlefield of the Mind do so it is a very helpful book to help you do just what I am saying. Take control of your thoughts and you take control of your life! I will end on that today, hopefully I will be more obedient in my thoughts that I have and share with you more often, because I truly feel like the Lord is doing an awesome work in his people. GOD BLESS!!!!!

New Furniture!

So Friday Shannon and I went and ordered a new sectional. I can't wait to get it it is going to take about 5 weeks for it to come in. We have never bought living room furniture other than recliners. When we bought our first house we bought it from his grandmother and she left all of her furniture, the couch and love seat are still in great condition ( she bought well made stuff ). I just always put slipcovers on them because they are a flower pattern that looks like a grandmothers. We have a little cabin here that we are going to move them too. We bought it through our direct buy membership and saved about $1000.00. We were going to have to wait for it even if we bought it from a store. We found a bedroom suit that we just loved. So I am going to start saving up for it. At Ashley furniture the bed, dresser and mirror came with the price that they had. With direct buy I am going to be able to get the bed, dresser, mirror, chest of drawers, 2 night stands, and a floor mirror for about $300.00 dollars more that at Ashley had just the bed and dresser. So I am so excited. We are hoping to start building our house this year and I am trying to get a head start on some of the furniture. Shannon and I did have a great date night, it was nice to have some time with just us, we went out to eat, furniture shopping and went and got new phones (which was past due) our old phones were not in the best of shape. I got a blackberry curve and I like it, I just have to get it all figured out. So I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and have a great week! GOD BLESS!

Date night!

Shannon and I are going to go on a date tonight, YEY!!! We don't get to do this very often. Jaime had invited me to join in on the book club and I would love to so I told her to let me know what ya'll are going to be reading this month and I will join in next month. Since Shannon had this planned I will enjoy a night out with him. We are getting ready to take the kids to my moms for the night, she is always up for a night with the kids. She sees them most everyday since she works for me, but you know that is not really quality time so she loves for us to let them stay the night, and the kids love to go because she always lets them eat whatever they want and spoils them rotten. I am grateful for the time that she spends with them, I was never really close to her mother mainly because we lived so far away. I was close to my dads mother though and I miss her dearly. I miss them both. Well I didn't mean to get off on that. I hope ya'll have a great time tonight and hopefully I will join you next month.

Wow it's been a while!

Well since I last blogged alot has went on. I turned 30 on the 7th, it really seems like just the other day that I turned 18. Life has been good to me in these first 30 years and I can't wait for the next 30. I think of the things that are to come and I just smile. Watching my children grow in to adults and to watch as they go through life is going to be so much fun. You know that we thought our parents were dorks because they wanted to be involved and all we wanted was our freedom. I can't wait to be that dork! I thank God everyday for my family and friends and that they are all happy and healthy. I am so grateful for the good friends that I have, some I have known for a long time, some not so long but look forward to getting to know them better. Turning 30 really makes you look at the next 30 years. (Jaime, you know I had to work a little Tim in here. aah memories!!!LOL) Jaime and I have been friends since the 3rd grade and have seen each other through all the fun times in our lives and some sad times. I hope you know how special you are to me!
Well since my birthday I have taken the kids to have a fun day with there friends. We went to chuck e cheese, and to the park. The kids had a blast! Oh did I mention this is how I spent Valentines day! We did have a good time though. I went to target and bought sheets, they had a bunch on sale and I got 2 sets of king size sheets for $27.00 and a queen set for $14.00 what a deal. They were soft comfy sheets too!
Shannon took off this week so that he could get some stuff done. We have cattle and he had a big sale he has been waiting for. The sale is today he is gone there now. There is always something to do when you have a farm. He has found a tractor that he wants this week so hopefully he will be able to get it, he has wanted one like this for several years. We are going to go to the campground one day and open up the camper and the kids are excited. We will not start camping until next month, but we had a few things that we wanted to do over there before then.
Well I have rattled on long enough, I will try to be a better blogger!
